Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, says he is doing everything possible to make sure the Black Stars are ready to compete strongly at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The four-time African champions will make their fifth appearance at the global showpiece, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Despite qualification, concerns remain among fans after a run of inconsistent results in recent months.

Speaking to Asempa FM, the Member of Parliament for Buem said his priority is to put the right systems in place for success.

“I am doing everything possible to ensure that we do things the right way," Mr Adams said.

"I am not nervous, but I am rather calculated in doing things, and if I am convinced about what I am doing, nothing stops me.

“Pressure will come, but I will not let it consume me as a Sports Minister."

Ghana have been drawn in a difficult Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23. They will then take on Croatia in their final group match on June 27.

As part of their build-up, the team will play friendly matches against Mexico later this month and Wales on June 2.
