Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has stated that the Association is ready to partner with “credible and legal” betting companies interested in featuring matches from Ghana’s football ecosystem on their platforms.
Speaking at the GFA’s 31st Ordinary Congress, Okraku clarified that no betting company currently has the rights to include games from the Ghana Premier League, Division One League, or any other domestic competition on their websites.
In recent years, Ghanaian football has faced allegations of match-fixing, with individuals exploiting the system through unregulated betting platforms. Okraku stressed that such activities are unlawful and warned that the GFA is actively pursuing offenders.
“We are pursuing legal action locally and internationally against companies that unlawfully take bets on our leagues,” he said.
“No betting company is allowed to take bets on our domestic competitions. We are open to partnerships with credible, legal betting companies who wish to engage with our football ecosystem transparently and ethically.”
Okraku’s comments come as the GFA continues its drive to protect the integrity of Ghanaian football while exploring legitimate revenue streams for the game.
