Veteran Ghanaian football administrator, Lawyer Ntow Fianko, has advised football administrators to resist any attempt to overturn the two-term Ghana FA presidency limit.
Reports emanating indicate that the Kurt Okraku led administration is poised to change the GFA statutes, scrapping the two-term limit for its presidents.
Okraku, who contested and was re-elected in 2023 for a second term, would be needed to vacate the position in 2027 under the current precepts.
According to Ntow Fianko, a former Board Member of Berekum Arsenal and chairman of the Division One League Board, the current GFA President has not done anything to merit a third term, as Ghana football continues to be in ruin under his leadership.
“Ghana football isn’t for anyone. Others came and left, so Kurt Okraku shouldn’t feel entitled. HP Nyameteye, Sam Okyere, MND Jawula and others came to serve as GFA president but they left when their tenure was over," Fianko told Kessben FM.
“Football administrators must kick against the three-term proposal. What’s his achievement as GFA president now? He hasn’t done anything to deserve a third term.”
