English-based defender, Mohammed Salisu has disclosed he wasn't ready for the national call up initially, but agreed to play this time because he felt the readiness in him and knew this was the right moment.
The 23 year old made his Black Stars debut in September against Brazil and went on to last the entire duration against Nicaragua.
The stalwart center-back has made 14 appearances for Southampton in the Premier League- an outstanding and consistent performance which earned him a spot in the Black Stars final World Cup.
Speaking to Southampton media, the ex- Real Valladolid man stated he is now ready for the challenge, reason he finally accepted to play for the national team this time.
"I had a feeling that it was the right time now to represent my country. Before, I wasn't ready. I spoke to the coaches and the FA President and they understood me. I told him when I'm ready I will accept the call up."
Ghana is housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and two time world champions Uruguay.
