Patrick Kpozo, a defender based in Moldova, expressed his joy at making his debut for the Black Stars in their draw against Madagascar on Sunday.
The 25-year-old played the entire match in the 0-0 draw against Madagascar at the Stade Barea Mahamasina in Antananarivo.
To qualify for AFCON 2023, Ghana needs a positive result in their September game against the Central African Republic.
After the match, Kpozo, who made his national team debut, reassured Ghanaians that the Black Stars will bring happiness in their next game.
"Very proud and happy to make my Debut for the Nation team unfortunately it came as a draw this isn’t what we wanted played on a bad surface and difficult to play next game we will surely put a smile on the face of Ghanaian," he wrote on Facebook.
With nine points from five games and one more match to play in September against the Central African Republic in Kumasi, Ghana remains at the top of the group.
During this season, Kpozo made 24 appearances in all competitions for FC Sheriff Tiraspol, the champions of Moldova.
In the recently concluded season, Kpozo achieved two victories with his team, securing both the Moldovan Cup and the Premier League titles.
