Former Black Stars captain, Abedi Ayew Pele, has come to the defense of his sons, Andre and Jordan Ayew, amidst public criticism of their recent performances with the national team.
Over the years, the Ayew brothers have faced scrutiny and criticism for what some perceive as below-par performances, leading to doubts about their suitability for the Black Stars.
In an interview captured by Sammy Yeboah, the former AFCON winner addressed the criticism, stating, "They've never got it wrong. They never left me alone when I was playing. It was the same, so I've nothing wrong with it." Abedi Ayew emphasized that the attention and critique are a result of the fans recognizing their talent and potential.
"It is because they know you have it and can do it, that's why they come at you. If you don't have it, no one will call your name. If you're determined and good, everybody will come to you," he added.
Both Andre Ayew, recently signed with French side Le Havre, and his younger brother Jordan Ayew have collectively represented Ghana in close to 200 games, showcasing their enduring commitment to the national team.
