President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has boldly stated that the Black Stars no longer fear elite opposition as they gear up for a high-profile international friendly against Germany national football team.
Speaking at a fundraiser in support of Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Okraku highlighted a significant shift in mindset within the Ghana national football team under head coach Otto Addo.
According to the GFA President, fixtures against football powerhouses like Germany once inspired fear, but the current squad is now driven by confidence, belief, and tactical maturity.
“A few years ago, if you heard a fixture like Ghana versus Germany, you'd be afraid,” Okraku said. “But today, we are very confident.
“The intangible assets that have been put together by Coach Addo and his team will make Ghana proud.”
The friendly, scheduled for March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart, is expected to serve as a crucial test for the Black Stars following their qualification for the World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama. Despite the challenging group, Okraku dismissed any notion of Ghana being underdogs, insisting the team is ready to compete with the very best.
With confidence growing within the camp, the upcoming clash against Germany offers a key opportunity for the Black Stars to demonstrate their progress and reinforce their ambition ahead of the global showpiece.
