Andre Ayew, captain of the Black Stars has implored Ghanaians to offer an unwavering support to the young players in the national team.

According to the Le Havre lynchpin, young players need two things; practical advice and emotional support which will help them to appreciate the need to play for Ghana.

Ayew made these key points when delivering a lecture on sports psychology at the University of Ghana.

"We have a young squad who are now understanding what it means to play for the team. They started playing abroad at a young age, unlike the old generation who came through the local league.

"They tend to cope more with what they're experiencing abroad. So coming back to Ghana to readapt our culture and values is not easy,” Andre Ayew said.

"Psychologically, everybody needs to understand what Ghana means, what Ghana football means to the people. The young ones would need more support to be able to focus on what playing for the country means," Andre Ayew added.
