Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have played out a pulsating goalless draw in an epic Ghana Premier League match-week 30 showdown at the Ohene Gyan Stadium

A minute silence was observed before kickoff with the entire stadium going quiet to honour the victims of the 'May 9 disaster'

The Porcupine Warriors started well and nearly came close to scoring but Patrick Asiedu's header from a corner kick went wide for a goal-kick.

Kotoko strongly appealed for a penalty in the 17th minute after Emmanuel Amankwah appeared to have brought down Kwame Opoku in the box but the referee waved play on.

Hearts of Oak also came so close to scoring but Kotoko were saved by Henry Ansu's goal line headed clearance

Back from recess, Stephen Appiah Asare had a huge opportunity to score but his effort was parried away by goalkeeper Mohammed Camara

Quick response from Kotoko in the 55th minute as Kwame Opoku came very close to scoring but his strike was saved by goalkeeper Benjamin Asare

Both teams subsequently took the game at each other all in search of a goal - which was the only thing missing but all their efforts proved futile as it finished goalless after full-time.

Hearts of Oak are in sixth place after the draw with 46 points and will face Berekum Chelsea next.

Asante Kotoko remain in fourth place despite Bibiani Goldstars' loss and are still four points behind the top-spot. They will face Dreams FC next.
