Premier League football returns to Nana Abrefa Nkethia III Park on Sunday afternoon, when Young Apostles welcome Nations FC in the second gameweek of the 2024-25 campaign.
Asare Bediako’s men succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Nsoatreman FC on matchday one, while Nations FC drew 0-0 with Bechem United.
Match Preview
Those of an Nsoatreman persuasion would have certainly felt that justice was served at Nana Konamansah Park last weekend, where Mohammed Abdul Rahman notched a 45+2’-minute goal as he made his presence felt in the highly charged game.
However, Yaw Preko’s men went ahead to still stunned the 11 Southampton shirts on the field - thanks to a Collins Cudjoe’s expertly taken free-kick in the dying embers of the game that ensured the ‘Agya Na )w) Tumi’ Boys would head home empty-handed.
Nevertheless, Young Apostles head coach Asare Bediako was particularly upbeat at the final whistle, hailing his players for causing Nsoatreman a world of problems on their own territory, even if the newly-promoted outfit did show not-so-bad of a performance on the field of play.
Seeing his side post a scoreless draw against Bechem United, Kasim Mingle was highly disappointed, but a point against the Hunters is hardly a disastrous start for the Abrankese based side, who has brought in additional firepower with the signing of Ivorian striker Bi Boris Djangone.
However, Nations need the Ivorian attacker to win their next games of the 2023-24 top-flight season - as they aim to prevail in their subsequent straight Ghana Premier League games on the road.

We say: Young Apostles 1-2 Nations FC
With a little bit more of a killer instinct, Nations could have made the long journey home from Abrankese with one or indeed three points, but their issues when it comes to ruthlessness will not be solved in a week.
The Apostles also possess a horrendous home record during their time in the second tier. However, can they hang on to that? and
But, from our point of view, this battle has a low-scoring rate written all over it.
