Karela United and Dreams FC played out a fiercely contested 1–1 draw in their matchweek nine fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale on Sunday afternoon.
In a match that ebbed and flowed with equal intensity, as both sides showed flashes of brilliance but ultimately settled for a point each after early and late goals defined the encounter.
The home side, Karela United, wasted no time asserting themselves in front of their fans. Midfielder Malik Abubakar opened the scoring in the 6th minute, finishing off a slick attacking move with a precise strike that left Dreams FC goalkeeper Gidios Aseako with no chance.
That early goal set the tone for a spirited first half as Philip Adom and Eric Antwi Konadu kept the Dreams FC backline under pressure with their pace and movement. Captain Fatawu Mohammed marshalled the right side of defence with authority, ensuring Karela went into the break with a slender but deserved lead.

The Still Believe Boys returned from the break with renewed purpose and quickly found the equalizer. Just one minute after the restart, in the 46th minute, as midfielder Suraj Seidu latched onto the ball to slot home, bringing the visitors level.
The equalizer shifted the spark of the match in favour of the away side as they began to dictate play from midfield. However, Karela’s defence stood firm, with Abdul Rahman Yaya and Faisal Gariba making crucial interventions to prevent further damage.
Both teams pushed for a late winner, but despite several half-chances at either end, neither could find the decisive goal.
The draw keeps Karela United in 9th place on the league table with 13 points, having now recorded three wins, four draws, and two defeats after nine rounds of matches. The Pride and Passion Boys continue their search for a fourth league victory of the campaign.
Dreams FC, meanwhile, sit in 13th place with 8 points from two wins, two draws, and five defeats, as the Still Believe side look to rediscover consistency after a difficult run of form.
