Bibiani Goldstars continued their impressive start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season with a narrow 1–0 win over Young Apostles in a tense matchweek eight encounter at the Dun’s Park on Sunday afternoon.
A decisive goal from Samuel Atta Kumi just before halftime sealed the victory for the Miners, whose disciplined defensive display frustrated the Agya Na Ɔwɔ Tumi Boys throughout the second half.
Goldstars entered the match determined to build on their spirited 2–2 draw away to Hearts of Oak last weekend and they wasted no time asserting control on home soil. The Miners dominated early proceedings, enjoying long spells of possession and pinning the Apostles deep into their half.
Their persistence was finally rewarded in first-half stoppage time (45+2’) when forward Atta Kumi powered his goal beyond goalkeeper Zulka Masawudu, sending the Bibiani crowd into jubilation.
After the break, Young Apostles showed more ambition, probing for openings, but their final-third execution lacked precision.

Goldstars, marshalled expertly by captain Vincent Atingah, absorbed the pressure, limiting the Agya Na Ɔwɔ Tumi to half-chances.
Despite a late surge from Apostles, including a close-range effort that sailed just over the bar, the hosts held their ground to secure another valuable home win.
The victory lifts Bibiani Goldstars to third position on the Premier League table with 16 points, continuing their strong form with three wins and a draw from their last four outings.
Meanwhile, Young Apostles, led by coach Abdul Hanan, remain ninth with 11 points, having managed three wins, two draws, and two defeats, plus one game in hand to be played.
