Accra Lions coach, Ibrahim Tanko, expressed his frustration after a contentious match against RTU, where officiating decisions took center stage.

Tanko didn't mince his words, calling the situation "daylight robbery."

Tanko's dismay stemmed from what he perceived as biased refereeing. He highlighted a series of questionable calls, including four yellow cards for his players within just 22 minutes of play and an awarded penalty that he believed was unjust.

In a passionate plea, Tanko emphasized the broader impact of such officiating on the game of football. "Referees are those destroying our game," he declared. His sentiments reflect a growing concern within the football community regarding the quality and fairness of officiating.

The coach didn't solely lay blame on the referees but also called upon the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take action. He urged the GFA to address the issue promptly, suggesting that the integrity of the game was at stake.

Tanko's frustration resonates with fans and players alike, who often feel powerless in the face of controversial refereeing decisions. The role of referees in shaping the outcome of matches cannot be overstated, making fair officiating essential for the integrity and enjoyment of the sport.

As Tanko concluded, "What went on here wasn't the best." His words serve as a reminder of the ongoing need for transparency, accountability, and improvement within football officiating. Only through concerted efforts can the beautiful game maintain its integrity and fairness for all involved.
