Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi have decided to terminate the contract of Ghanaian striker Albert Amoah, just three months after his move from Asante Kotoko, according to Oyerepa FM's sources.

The club is reported to have offered Amoah $30,000 in compensation, equivalent to three months of his salary, as part of the termination agreement. The decision comes as a surprise given Amoah’s high-profile transfer from the Ghana Premier League champions.

Amoah, who had joined Al Ahly Benghazi with expectations of making a significant impact, now faces an uncertain future after his brief stint in Libya. The striker will likely explore other opportunities to continue his career in Africa or overseas.

This development adds to a growing list of Ghanaian players experiencing short-lived tenures abroad, highlighting the challenges of adapting quickly to new leagues and environments.

Al Ahly Benghazi are yet to comment publicly on the reasons behind the early termination of Amoah’s contract, leaving fans and pundits speculating on whether performance issues or other factors influenced the decision.

Amoah, since returning to Kotoko on loan has scored a goal and an assist in the Premier League, taking his tally to four goals this season.
