Asante Kotoko head coach, Posper Ogum, has provided a crucial update regarding forward Albert Amoah and his recent knee injury as fans anticipate his quick return to action in Ghana Premier League.
After a frustrating output, the talented striker had to be subbed in the 71st minute by Samuel Tenedu after sustaining an injury in Kotoko's 1-0 defeat to Heart of Lions on Sunday, in which his absence was keenly felt.
Speculation about Albert Amoah's fitness had created uncertainty regarding his immediate return onto the pitch.
However, Prosper Ogum has officially declared that Amoah might be fit for action this Sunday against Bechem United, offering reassurance that although the injury was serious, the medical team will put in the needed work and get him ready.
“He had a kick directly to the side of the knee, it’s swollen and very painful. He could not walk and had to be helped to get on board the bus. It looks serious but I think we have competent medical staff that would be able to address it” he said.
Amoah's return will come at a vital point for Kotoko, who currently sit in 3rd place on the GPL table with just 15 points from nine matches.
With five goals in nine league appearances this season, Albert Amoah' experience and attacking traits on the attack will be critical for Ogum's side in the upcoming fixtures.
