Asante Kotoko's hopes were dashed in a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Great Olympics, leaving coach Prosper Narteh Ogum disheartened by his team's failure to seize scoring opportunities.

Despite a promising start, marred by Steven Mukwala's penalty miss, Kotoko struggled to find the net throughout the match.

Expressing his frustration, Ogum lamented the team's inability to convert numerous chances, particularly in the first half.

“Our inability to connect the chances we had especially in the first half, we had so many chances that we could have scored including the penalty,” he told StarTimes in a post-match interview.

“In the first half, they left so many spaces behind them on the right side and the left side and we utilize them well but then it was all about the final ball into the net or the last but one pass to somebody score. I think they were in a haste and that actually made us a little bit tensed as the game unfolded especially when they scored, it brought some pressure on us because we had to come from behind but then i think it was all about our inability to score”

Reflecting on the match, Ogum emphasized the significance of missed opportunities and the challenge of playing from behind after Olympics' goal. Looking ahead, Kotoko is determined to bounce back strongly in their upcoming Matchday 33 clash against RTU in Tamale.
