Nsoatreman FC have released a statement this afternoon to confirm their withdrawal from the Ghana Premier League with immediate effect.

This is mainly due to the unfortunate incident that happened over a month ago during their match-week 19 fixture against Asante Kotoko where a staunch supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong famously known as 'Nana Pooley' was stabbed to death by an unknown person.

The 'Efiri Tete Amanso' outfit have confirmed they are not only withdrawing from the Premier League but also from all competitions that is supervised by the Ghana Football Association.

They further stated some of their reasons of withdrawing and were emphatic that they can't guarantee the safety of their players, board and management anymore reason they ultimately reached a conclusion to back out of all football activities in the country.

Official club statement reads; 

"We write to respectfully withdraw from the ongoing Ghana Premier League and any other competitions organized by the GHANA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION due to concerns over the security and safety of our players.

“We are forced to take this decision due to recent events involving our matches with Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Samatex FC, which we officially wrote to your high office.

“In light of this, We can no longer guarantee the safety of our players, therefore, management and board of directors are left with no choice but to prioritize the safety and security of our players by withdrawing from the League.

“We regret any inconveniences this decision may cause. Thank you for your cooperation,” the letter concluded.
