Eric Bekoe, the former Asante Kotoko striker, has disclosed that he joined Berekum Chelsea in 2013 due to his disappointment with the management of the Ghanaian giants.

Bekoe, who terminated his contract with Egypt's Petrojet to return to Asante Kotoko, expressed feeling let down by the Porcupine Warriors after their discussions did not meet his expectations.

In an interview with Joy Sports, the top scorer of the 2007/08 Ghana Premier League revealed that he joined Berekum Chelsea on the deadline day as Asante Kotoko failed to fulfill their commitments.

"I was deeply hurt because I believed most of the discussions revolved around my return to Kumasi, which is why I even terminated my contract in Egypt to come back," Bekoe explained.

"When I arrived here, they started making excuses like injuries and such. Luckily, I was able to play that season because Berekum Chelsea was participating in Africa, which allowed them to register more players. That gave me the chance to compete in the Ghana Premier League that season. I was registered on the deadline day."

Despite the circumstances surrounding his move, Bekoe emphasized that he had a successful season with Berekum Chelsea. He scored nine goals in 25 appearances, contributing to the club's fifth-place finish in the league.

The former Black Stars striker commended the management of Berekum Chelsea for granting him the opportunity to play and expressed fond memories of his time with the club.
