The proposed deal between Maxwell Abbey Quaye, a former Great Olympics player, and FK Loznica of Serbia has collapsed.
The striker traveled to Scandinavia to negotiate with FK Lonica but was unable to reach an agreement.
As a result, Abbey Quaye has returned to Ghana, with a strong possibility of playing for Great Olympics in the upcoming season. He had started training with Loznica football club, and the club even announced his arrival on their official social media accounts, but unfortunately, he was unable to finalize the deal.
According to the 25-year-old in an interview with Opoku Afriyie on Adehye3 FM in Kumasi, the club was supposed to present him with a contract the next day, but the club president who was overseeing his deal was sacked.
He stated that he has been in talks with some local clubs, with Great Olympics being the leading candidate, but he is still focused on finding an opportunity abroad to further his development.
During his time with Great Olympics, Quaye scored 23 goals and provided two assists in 61 Ghana Premier League appearances. However, he was inactive for much of last season after his contract expired with the Dade Boys.
