Former Ghana U23 player Kwame Poku continued his fine form for Peterborough United, scoring for the third consecutive game in their 2-2 draw against Leyton Orient in the English League One on Tuesday.

Playing at Brisbane Road, the hosts took an early lead in the 20th minute when defender Thomas James found the back of the net. Peterborough responded just before halftime, with Poku equalizing in the 42nd minute after connecting with a pass from youngster Malik Mothersille.

Moments later, Peterborough were awarded a penalty when Ricky-Jade Jones was brought down by Leyton's goalkeeper, Zachary Hemming. Mothersille stepped up and calmly converted the spot-kick to give the visitors a 2-1 advantage going into the break.

However, Leyton Orient found a way back into the match in the 53rd minute when American forward Charlie Kelman scored with a deflected shot that beat Peterborough’s goalkeeper, Jed Steer, leveling the score at 2-2.

Poku, who has been in impressive form this season, now has five goals in seven League One appearances. Meanwhile, English-born Ghanaian forward Daniel Agyei started for Leyton Orient and played 80 minutes before being substituted.

Peterborough United will be looking to build on their performance as they aim for promotion in the ongoing 2024-25 League One campaign.
