Charles Taylor, a former Ghanaian international footballer, has made a revelation about his time at Hearts of Oak, stating that he played in every match across all competitions during his three-year tenure with the club.

 

Taylor, who gained prominence in Ghanaian football playing for Great Olympics, Hearts of Oak, and Asante Kotoko, was a key player for the Rainbow club from 2000 to 2003.

He was an integral part of the historic Hearts of Oak squad known as the "64 Battalions" that achieved tremendous success in Ghana and Africa, clinching the treble in the 2000 season.

During his time at Asante Kotoko, Charles Taylor played a crucial role in helping the Porcupine Warriors secure the 2003 Ghana Premier League title under the guidance of head coach Karim Abdul Razak.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Fox FM, Taylor revealed, “I played all the games that Hearts of Oak played during my three years at the club. I was never benched.”

When asked about the exact number of matches he played for Hearts, Taylor admitted that he did not keep track of those records as a player. However, he emphasized that he was never left out of any game at Hearts, including the Champions League matches.

“As for the exact number of matches I played for Hearts , I don’t know , I don’t remember because it is not duty to keep all those records as a player. But what I know is that I was never put on the bench at Hearts. I played every single game including the Champions League” , he added.
