Hearts of Oak striker, Asamoah Boateng Afriyie has issued an apology to his club following his abysmal performance against Golden Kicks FC over the weekend.
The 'Phobians' shockingly suffered a round of 16 exit to the lower division side after losing 4-3 via penalties on the back of a goalless draw in regulation time.
Asamoah Boateng, who joined prior to the start of the ongoing campaign from Nations FC, is still struggling to find his feet since joining the capital-based club.
In the league cup last Sunday, he wasted some clear goal-scoring opportunities that came his way and many believe that contributed to the club's premature exit from the competition
In a statement released earlier today, the stalwart striker has apologised to the entire Hearts of Oak fraternity and assured he will bounce back stronger.
“With much respect, I render an apology to the whole team, technical, the board, and the fans of Hearts of Oak for what happened on Sunday,” he wrote.
“I plead with you to forgive me. I know you expect much from me, but I promise to bounce back to the Asamoah Boateng you used to know. To err is human, to forgive is divine.”
The 27-year-old has no goal in 12 league matches so far this season.
