Former Nsoatreman FC General Manager, Eric Alagidede has jumped to the defense of his former boss Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah following the allegations that has been labelled against him following what happened at the Nana Koramansah II Park over the weekend. 

Ghana Premier League match-day 19 matches were held over the weekend and the game between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC caused lots of chaos which has been the topic of discussions till now in the local media. 

Series of incidents happened with some players of both teams engaging in serious exchanges and fights in the early stages of the second half with some supporters involved as well.

The chaos continued even off the pitch and eventually led the sad killing of die-hard Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong, famously known as 'Nana Pooley', who was stabbed to death while the game was ongoing. 

The issue has really sparked a huge controversy in the country and has been the topic for discussions so far with three people currently in Police custody including Nsoatreman FC bank-roller Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah - who has been accused of instigating the fatal attack on the visiting team

However, Eric Alagidede on Sporty FM this morning, has defended the former Sunyani West Constituency MP is a very peaceful person and has Kotoko at heart and will be the last person to do something to hurt them. 

"The Ignatius Baffour Awuah I know is passionate about football. He always wants to win, but I don’t think he can even hurt a fly or incite violence," Alagidede stated.

"He is a known Kotoko fan and used to contribute to the club to help buy players. He is the last person who would want to harm Kotoko."

The match-day 20 matches has been postponed by the Ghana FA to allow for investigations to go on and as to why the league will continue or not has still not been confirmed yet.
