Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito says he is not worried by reports suggesting the club’s management is considering his future following a run of inconsistent results.
The Porcupine Warriors dropped dropped points in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title race on Sunday after being held by struggling Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Matchday 18 fixture.
That draw has left Kotoko six points behind leaders Medeama and has increased pressure on Zito. Speaking after the match, he admitted there were rumours but said they do not worry him.
“I can’t speak about tomorrow because, as you’ve mentioned, there are reports that management wants me out,” Zito said.
“These recent results have made the situation more difficult, so if that is truly their intention, then the opportunity has presented itself now.”
Despite the noise surrounding his future, Zito stressed that he has received no official communication from the club.
“I am free to go to Nsawam today. Throughout my coaching career, I have never been sacked, and I have neither seen nor heard anything from management suggesting they intend to appoint a new coach. Until the people who brought me here officially ask me to leave, I am not concerned about what is being said or reported on social media,” he added.
Kotoko will look to return to winning ways on Sunday when they travel to face Bibiani Goldstars at Dun’s Park in their Matchday 19 encounter.
