Head coach of Asante Kotoko Karim Zito says he would walk away from the club with pride if his time in charge were to come to an end.

After inconsistent results, the former Dreams FC and Ghana U-20 coach is facing more pressure and there is increasing speculation about his job.

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Berekum Chelsea in their Matchday 18 Ghana Premier League fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, a result that further dented their title push.

Speaking after the match, Zito talked about the progress the team has made under his leadership, pointing to trophies already won and the club’s involvement in several competitions.

“If I leave Kotoko today, I will leave with pride. In less than a year, we have won trophies, including the Toyota Cup.,” he said.

“We are still in the FA Cup, and in the league the title is still open, with any team in the top five capable of winning it.”

Zito will now turn his attention to Kotoko’s next assignment, as the Porcuppine Warriors travel to face defending champions Bibiani Goldstars at Dun’s Park in their Matchday 19 encounter on Sunday.
