Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad, believes it's time for the club to focus on recruiting the best players in the league.

The club's poor performance last season led to the departure of 21 players, with some being let go due to underperformance. Additionally, some senior players failed to renew their contracts with the club.

Danlad, who was once the captain of the team, has urged the recruitment team to prioritize signing established and experienced players to blend with the young talent already at the club.

"When I joined Asante Kotoko, I met Stephen Oduro at the club. I will implore the recruitment team of Asante Kotoko to sign the best players in the league," he said in an interview with Pure FM.

"I mean the established and experienced players to blend with the young ones to help the club," he added.

The club is currently in the market negotiating with potential signings ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

They are also preparing for their upcoming match against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on July 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium as part of the inaugural Democracy Cup tournament.
