Kwesi Appiah, member of Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), has expressed confidence that the Porcupine Warriors will perform better in the second half of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Kotoko endured a challenging first half but managed to finish in second place with 30 points, losing just two of their 16 matches. With the league’s second round set to kick off this weekend, Appiah believes the team is on the rise.

“I'm part of the IMC, and we thank God they’re also picking up. It won’t be easy, especially in the second round of the league, so I am hoping that we try to pick up,” Appiah said.

Reflecting on last season, he noted that integrating new players mid-season had previously caused inconsistencies. “Last season, during the second round, some of the players had just come to the team and needed time, and that is one of the key problems we always have,” he explained.

He added, “And sometimes, we don’t have patience, but I understand they’re now picking up slowly. I hope in the second round they’re able to play well and everyone who supports Kotoko back home gets happy.”

Meanwhile, Kotoko have strengthened their squad with the signing of midfielder Prince Badu from Nations FC. The Reds, unbeaten in their last three league matches, will travel to face Swedru All Blacks in their Matchday 17 fixture at the Swedru Stadium.
