Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has attributed their jittery and somehow a poor start to the ongoing season to injuries and believes the team is sometime broken due to inconsistency

The Porcupine Warriors are still having hopes of defending their league trophy but that can only happen when they right all wrongs quickly to keep the chase on current leaders Aduana Stars- who have opened a five points lead at the top.

Seydou Zerbo's men are winless in their last two matches, having lost to Dreams FC before sharing spoils with Nsoatreman FC this weekend, all away from home.

They have seven wins and draws each, with four loses and are currently found on the third spot on the table with 28 points after 18 matches.

In an interview with Oyerepa FM, the enterprising administrator was very optimistic they would have been on top of the league by now if they were to be without series of injuries.

"Many times we do not consider other factors before criticizing. We have failed to consistently produce the same team hence playing a lot of players mid shift leaving the coach to always improvise."

"Anytime we have a good result with the hope of keeping the consistency, we record injuries or suspensions".

"Sometimes I pity the coaches, we need to improve as a team but I pity the coaches because sometimes getting a 20-man squad is a problem.”

Asante Kotoko will host second-placed Bechem United in the next round of GPL matches this Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
