Ghana Premier League newcomers Swedru All Blacks are in advanced talks to appoint a foreign head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season, Kickgh.com can exclusively reveal, as they seek to cement their return to top-flight football after a 16-year absence.

The Central Region-based club, once co-owned by Ghana legend Abedi Pele, secured promotion in June after topping Zone Two of the Access Bank Division One League, capping a dramatic resurgence following years of financial and administrative setbacks.

Grapevine source told Kickgh.com's Pascal Amoah that the board is finalising negotiations with two shortlisted candidates from Europe and South America, with a formal announcement expected “within days.”

“Our ambition is not just to survive, but to compete,” the unnamed source said.

“We believe bringing in a coach with international pedigree will help develop the squad and introduce a more professional structure.”

Swedru All Blacks are one of Ghana’s oldest clubs, formed in 1936, and enjoyed a brief stint in the Premier League in the mid-2000s. Their return has reignited local interest in the historic club, with officials promising a blend of youthful talent and experienced signings.

Pre-season training is set to begin later this month, with the new coach expected to oversee squad selection and recruitment.
