Vision FC assistant coach, Hamza Obeng Mohammed, has revealed that the club's long-term goal is to develop young players who can excel at the highest level.
Despite gaining promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their history by winning the National Division One League Zone Three, Obeng Mohammed is keen to focus on nurturing talent rather than chasing immediate success.
As a former assistant coach of Hearts of Oak, Obeng Mohammed knows what it takes to build a successful team, but he has had to settle for a deputy role at Vision FC due to his inability to meet licensure standards. However, he remains committed to his vision of developing young players.
"We have our own project, our own motive, which is the development of talent and nurturing good players for successful careers in the future," Obeng Mohammed told 3 Sports. "So, we don't want them to expect too much, like winning the league or scoring against every team. When it comes to that, we are okay, but our motive is the development of talent and nurturing young players for the near future."
Obeng Mohammed's vision is not just about winning trophies, but about developing players who can excel at the highest levels. He wants to see his players representing the national team, playing in top European leagues, and potentially even in international competitions.
"We always discuss this, aiming to nurture talent and develop players to excel at the highest levels—playing for the national team, senior national team, and in top European and possibly other international leagues," he emphasized.
