Charles Taylor, a former Asante Kotoko star, has urged coach Prosper Ogum to contemplate resigning from his position to salvage his reputation amid the team's recent struggles.
Coach Ogum, who initially guided the team to victory in the Ghana Premier League, is currently facing challenges in his second stint with the club.
Following Kotoko's recent 2-1 defeat against Nsoatreman, which marked their fifth loss in six games, concerns regarding Ogum's leadership have heightened.
Despite mounting pressure for his resignation, Ogum continues to receive support from the Interim Management Committee (IMC), of which he is a member.
"Prosper Narteh Ogum won the Premier League with Asante Kotoko, but his second coming has been a disaster, which is not good for him and the club," expressed Taylor during an interview with Asempa FM.
Taylor further emphasized the absence of a cohesive management team at the club, suggesting that the current composition of the IMC is not conducive to addressing the team's challenges.
"It is very worrying not to have a management team at this team. The IMC is not helping the team because the composition is even not good but then Otumfuo [Asantehene] in his wisdom thinks it is good for the club," Taylor remarked.
"Still, with the performance of Prosper Narteh Ogum, I think it will be better for him to resign from the club to save his reputation," he concluded.
As Kotoko navigates through a turbulent period, Taylor's sentiments underscore the need for decisive action to address the team's issues and restore confidence among supporters.
