Italian club Como have turned down a €30 million offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal for promising Dutch-Ghanaian winger Jayden Addai, according to sources close to the deal.
The bid, which arrived on Tuesday, was rejected by Como’s technical director Mark-Jan Fledderus, primarily due to the timing of the approach. With the Italian transfer window having closed on Monday evening, the club would have been left without the opportunity to sign a replacement had they sanctioned the sale of the 20-year-old attacker.
Al Hilal are believed to have held direct discussions with Addai in an attempt to lure him to the Saudi Pro League. Despite the strong financial interest, the Netherlands Under-21 international — who remains eligible to represent Ghana — is understood to be focused on continuing his development in Europe for now.
Although the initial move has been blocked, the Saudi side have not cooled their interest and are expected to return with another offer when the summer transfer window reopens.
For the moment, Addai will remain with Como for the rest of the 2025/26 campaign. The winger only joined the ambitious Italian outfit in July 2025 and is under contract until June 2030, a situation that gives the club significant control over his future.
Since settling into life in Serie A, Addai has quickly established himself as one of Como’s exciting attacking options. He has scored three goals in 11 league appearances this season, highlighting his growing influence in the team.
His impressive rise has also been reflected in his market valuation, with Transfermarkt placing his current worth at €20 million as his reputation continues to grow across Europe. Addai’s development is expected to remain under close watch from both club and international observers as he continues to build his career in Italy.
