Samuel Nzemaba, the former captain of Hearts of Oak, has expressed doubts about Assistant Coach David Ocloo's suitability to lead the renowned Ghanaian football club.

Nzemaba questioned Ocloo's ability to handle the demanding role and criticized the decision to appoint him as the head coach.

Following the dismissal of Serbian trainer Slavko Matic in the middle of the season, Assistant Coach David Ocloo was entrusted with managing the Phobians. However, the team finished the 2022/23 season in 12th place with 46 points.

In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Nzemaba shared his concerns, stating, "David Ocloo can never handle Hearts of Oak. I heard him say in an interview that he is ready to coach the team if given the opportunity. However, considering his poor interim results, it is questionable to appoint him as the head coach."

Nzemaba emphasized that such a decision is unprecedented and would not be acceptable to him. He went on to describe David Ocloo as an average coach, highlighting that Hearts of Oak is a prestigious club with high expectations.

Nzemaba believes that it was a significant mistake to assign the head coaching role to someone of average coaching caliber. He expressed his hope for a change in the upcoming season, aiming to find a capable individual who can effectively manage the team.

In summary, Samuel Nzemaba has raised doubts about David Ocloo's ability to handle the responsibilities of coaching Hearts of Oak. He criticized the decision to appoint him as head coach, considering the team's demanding nature, and expressed his desire for a more capable individual to lead the club in the future.

"David Ocloo can never handle Hearts of Oak. I heard him in an interview saying he is ready to coach the team if given the opportunity. You had a poor result as an interim so how can you be appointed as the head coach," he told Ghanasportspage.com.

"It’s not done anywhere and I won’t even agree if they decide to give him the job. David Ocloo is an average coach,"

“Hearts is not like Bofoakwa Tano and other small clubs. The team demands and you can’t sack the head coach and give the job to someone who is an average coach. It was a big mistake but I hope things will change next season to get someone who can control the team.”
