Asante Kotoko is set to begin its Youth Team aimed at nurturing emerging talents with ten players.
Crafted by the club's Interim Management Committee (IMC), this project is set to begin with 10 promising players selected to represent the future of Ghanaian football.
This move underscores the club's dedication to fostering local talent and sustaining the growth of the sport, aligning with the emphasis on youth development in the sports landscape.
The carefully chosen prospects will receive top-level coaching and mentoring, equipped to navigate the complexities of modern football while wearing the iconic Asante Kotoko jersey. These players are currently participating in pre-season training alongside the senior team under the guidance of Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Moro Ibrahim, formerly of WAFA SC, will head the Youth Team, succeeding Abdulai Gazale. The IMC Chairman, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, announced the players' registration plans with the Ghana Football Association, aiming to assemble a complete team by December.
"We currently have 10 youth players that we want to start with. We will first register them at the GFA and latest by December, we will have a formidable youth team," he said.
Additionally, Asante Kotoko's commitment to women's football is reinforced through a partnership with Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies FC, fulfilling the club licensing board's requirements set by the Ghana Football Association. This holistic approach highlights Asante Kotoko's comprehensive strategy for football development.
