Nana Yaw Amponsah, the Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, has provided an update on the club's ongoing initiative to develop a young squad at their Adako Jachie training facility.
In line with their commitment to nurturing young talent, the Porcupine Warriors have commenced the renovation of their training complex at Adako Jachie. The construction of the facility and housing accommodations began two years ago with the aim of providing a conducive environment for both the club's players and youth team.
In an exclusive interview with Oyerepa FM, Nana Yaw Amponsah shared details about the current approach and future plans for the initiative. He mentioned that they have reached a stage where decisions need to be made regarding accommodation for the selected players.
One option under consideration is to identify foster guardians who will be compensated with a monthly stipend ranging from Ghc1,000 to Ghc2,000, allowing them to construct apartments for the players.
Amponsah also revealed that discussions are ongoing with potential partners who are interested in providing technical support and potentially becoming new investors in the project.
"We have reached the stage of deciding how to accommodate the players we have selected. Whether to find foster guardians and pay them may be Ghc1,000 - Ghc2,000 a month to build an apartment," he explained.
"Our partners are also in talks with us on providing technical assistance, and they might even become new investors. So, we are still actively pursuing the project."
These developments highlight Asante Kotoko's commitment to investing in the development of young players and creating a nurturing environment that will help them thrive in their football careers.
