Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has voiced his disappointment over the penalty decision that led to his team’s defeat against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in the Matchday 9 Super Clash of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians fell to a 1-0 loss at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with Morifing Donzo converting from the spot to hand the Porcupine Warriors all three points in a tense encounter.
Speaking after the game, Dramani questioned the ease with which the penalty was awarded, suggesting his side could have defended the situation better but still felt aggrieved by the call.
“It was too easy, even though we could have defended better. We’ve trained to be bold, courageous, and to handle players in wide areas rather than tracking back into our own box,” he lamented.
The defeat extends Hearts of Oak’s winless run against Asante Kotoko to five league matches, with their last victory over their fierce rivals coming in 2023.
While Kotoko remain unbeaten in their first six league games of the campaign and still have three outstanding fixtures, Hearts of Oak currently sit fifth on the table with 16 points from nine matches, as they aim to rediscover consistency in the coming weeks.
