Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Didi Dramani, expressed frustration after his side were held to a goalless draw by Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League on Friday.
The Phobians entered the fixture eager to return to winning ways after going three matches without a victory. Despite their intent and dominance in spells, they were unable to convert several clear-cut chances across both halves.
Hearts of Oak created multiple opportunities, particularly in the first half where they came close on at least three occasions. They continued to threaten after the break, fashioning two more promising chances, but poor decision-making in key moments ultimately denied them a breakthrough.
Reflecting on the result, Dramani admitted his side should have done more to secure all three points.
“I think in the first half we controlled the game the way we wanted, and we came close with the chances we created. We had about three chances that could have given us the goal,” he said.
“In the second half too, we created two chances that could have made the difference. If we had made the right decisions in those key moments, at least we should have scored.”
The stalemate leaves Hearts of Oak in third place on the league table, but their position remains under threat as the Ghana Premier League enters a crucial stage, with the possibility of dropping out of the top four by the end of Week 26.
