Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has conceded that the club will deeply feel the absence of Kamaradini Mamudu following the defender’s move away from Tarkwa during the ongoing winter transfer window.
The Ghana international has sealed a long-term deal with Sudanese giants Al Hilal, bringing an end to his successful spell with the Mauve and Yellow outfit.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Tanko was full of praise for Mamudu’s character and professionalism, both on and off the pitch.
“Kamaradini is a fantastic person, not just on the field but outside it as well. He is very disciplined and committed,” Tanko said.
“It hurts to lose a player like him, but life goes on. He also has to move on and continue his career elsewhere.”
Despite acknowledging the void Mamudu’s departure creates, Tanko expressed confidence in Medeama’s ability to cope, stressing that the squad has adequate cover in the right-back position.
“We will definitely miss him, but we still have three right-backs who can step up and fill the gap,” he added.
“I wish him all the best and hope he succeeds at his new club just as he did here.”
Mamudu departs with Medeama sitting top of the Ghana Premier League, holding an eight-point lead as the club pushes toward a potential second league title.
He now begins a new chapter with Al Hilal, who currently top the Rwandan Premier League, with the Sudanese domestic competition disrupted due to the ongoing conflict in the country.
