Kwame Opare Addo, the Communications Director of Hearts of Oak has stated that the club is highly motivated to do well in the upcoming 2023-24 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians were nearly booted out of the Ghanaian topflight after they were embroiled in a relegation battle, finishing 12th to luckily escape relegation on the final matchday of the campaign.
Hearts joggled around with whom to succeed Samuel Boadu, after the 37-year-old was axed in September 2022 after recording a string of bad results.
However, Hearts settled on Serbian tactician Slavko Matić, but his stay with the club was cut short after fans forced him out, citing his inability to change the fortunes of the club as they were caught to be struggling with rapid inconsistencies.
David Ocloo was brought-in as a stand-in coach for Hearts on Friday, July 7, 2023, but he also left his role at the end of the season due to poor results.
Opare Addo has assured the fans that the mistakes they made last season won't repeat itself as the club's management is doing everything possible for the playing body to do well in the upcoming Premier League season.
“Whatever happened to us as a club last season will not repeat itself this season," he told Kumasi-based Sikka FM.
“Our pre-season this year as a club is going well as planned and our expectations are being met," he added.
Hearts will clash with Real Tamale United in their opening match at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on September 15, with Dutch tactical connoisseur Martin Koopman manning the dugout as their head coach.
