The assistant coach of Dreams FC, Wilfred Dormon, has claimed that the clubs decision to cash in on key players is the major factor why they are struggling in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
Dreams FC are yet to win a game in the top flight, having managed to annex four draws and three defeats.
Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules are behind Chelsea’s recent decisions to cash in on youth players, with home-grown midfielder Conor Gallagher currently at the centre of a potential move to Atletico Madrid.
The Still Believe are currently 17th on the league table with an unbelievable four points after seven rounds of matches.
For Dreams fans, discontent has grown even greater as players such as John Antwi, Sylvester Simba, Agyenim Boateng Mensah, Abdul Jalilu, Abdul Aziz Issah and Godfred Kingsley Atuahene were all sold by the club under Karim Zito.
Dormon was asked about the effect of exodus of players from the fold of the Still Believe.
“It takes two-three years to build a winning team,” Dormon replied. “Basically, the entire starting eleven have shipped on to continue their career and that is why we are struggling.”
Dreams FC will travel to Wenchi to square-off with Young Apostles in matchday 8 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, October 27.
