Former Southampton young star Victor Udoh has died at the age of 21 in “suspicious circumstances.”
According to reports that the 21-year-old was found dead in Abuja, the capital of his home country of Nigeria.
The exact cause of the former wonderkid’s death remains unknown.
His former side Royal Antwerp released a statement that read: “With great dismay, RAFC has learned of the passing of former player Victor Udoh.
“Our thoughts are with Victor’s family, friends, and loved ones. We wish them much strength, support, and warmth during this particularly difficult time. Rest in peace, Victor.”
Udoh, who played as a forward, moved from Abuja to Belgium as a teenager to pursue his footballing dreams with Royal Antwerp.
He signed with the side’s youth squad and worked his way up the ranks, scoring 12 times in 21 youth appearances.

Those impressive returns eventually saw him debut for the senior side in the Belgian Pro League at just 19.
He went on to make 28 appearances for the Reds, but failed to score, managing just two assists
Those performances were enough to generate interest overseas, however, with Southampton swooping for the young star in January 2025.
He joined on a three-and-a-half-year contract and went straight into the Saints’ development side.
There he again found some of the impressive form that saw him rise so quickly with Antwerp, managing two goals and an assist in eight games.
But he could not break into the Premier League outfit’s first team, and left by mutual consent just months later, soon after the start of the 2025/26 season.
He landed at Czech second division side Dynamo Ceske Budejovice in October, with the outfit tying him down to a contract until 2028.
