It is sad to learn these inhumane acts still exists in the world of football where players are lured with mouthwatering offers from agents by agents on the possibility of securing big money deals for players but the story is entirely different when these players finally arrive there in the prospective country.

Recently there has been instances of these happenings that surrounds Ghanaian players who were made to believe there contracts readied for them in Egypt and upon arrival the whole ordeal was entirely different and when players arrive their passports are taken from them immediately on their arrival so that when the notice the change of event they would not be able to take a quick turn back home.

Interestingly, the genesis of these happenings involves a self taught and claimed Ghanaian agent and a former footballer named Samuel Kyere who played for the likes of Berekum Chelsea and later continued his career in Egypt. After ending his career he then decided to get into management and with his experience as former footballer it is clearly understandable but this guy has linked up with an Egyptian agent by name Nabil Hassan Abdouzeid Abdelfattah popularly known as Captain Nabil to lure players with mouthwatering offers in the beginning but after the players falling for those talks as they’re made to believe because of the thought that the Ghanaian guy who’s talked them through the possibility is a former player and assume whatever he’s offered them is true but that’s not the case.

In recent times some Ghanaian players with the likes of former Berekum Chelsea midfielder Augustine Henneh, current Berekum Chelsea midfielder Flavien Kongoza and others were lured with same lucrative deals from these guys which triggered their interest to take up the challenge but upon arrival the story was entirely different which had them players go through some tough times with external reach out for help before they were finally released and given their passport as Samuel Kyere take the passports of the players upon arrival and with the players unknowing what could be of them are not reluctant as they are made to feel it’s his own countryman so it’s safe but for selfish and unscrupulous reasons when passports get to these guys and players notices the deal being offered is entirely different and requests to want to go back home they are denied of an immediate release of passports to aid a travel back home.

These are things going and currently Samuel and his compatriot are holding down Real Tamale United youngster Listowell Amankona, 17, who they had initial requested for a two weeks trial possibility with a Premier League club which was accepted but upon the players arrival he had been sent to a second division club in the end the players club requested for his return back to the club through his management but till date the player is yet to arrive in Ghana as he’s facing the same situation with his passport being withheld by the Egyptian and always postponing the players arrival with different dates together with Samuel Kyere who’s that Ghanaian self acclaimed agent who it is believed they had decided to nicodemusly make a transfer for the boy even without the notice of the club which I feel it’s very shallow minded approach as the player is under contract with Real Tamale United and cannot sign a contract with another club unless sanctioned by the players parent club. Hence these guys are just wasting their time with holding the player down.

The players club has already reported the disappearance of their player Listowell Amankona to the Ghana Football Association with all necessary information gathered from the situation with the Samuel Kyere and Captain Nabil with all their information details like their pictures, passports etc and hence expect direct reach between the two football federations to sanction the return of the player back to Ghana and to return to his club.

The player had departed Ghana on a two weeks trial with an Egyptian club Al Helal as requested by the purported club which these thievery and selfish agents work with and after failed negotiations they have decided to hold the player down with his passport and not allow him to come and its already 5 months since his arrival late September and player is still held captive without his passport with him hence the players civil rights has been trampled upon.

This is to inform young players that all glitters is not gold and should not fall for these type of deals from self acclaimed agents like Samuel Kyere and Captain Nabil who may come with wild talks of opportunities to lure you but when you arrive there would be literally nothing to write home about and in the end your free will to live is curtail as you don’t have the right to move freely on something you will want in the name of greener pastures.
