Assistant coach of Sudan, Ignatius Osei Fosu has admitted it was a very difficult game against Ghana but their solidity in defense handed a precious point in the game.
The Falcons of Jediane held the Black Stars to a goalless draw at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in a crunchy Group F fixture of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The four-time African champions were the dominant side and created numerous opportunities especially in the second half but they were all futile.
In the post-match presser, the enterprising gaffer described the draw as a huge boost for them having faced a very stiffer and tougher opposition but still stood on their toes to at least avoid a defeat away from home.
"We played well. Defensively we were solid. We knew it will be tough because they will have the fans with them so we had to rely on some counter attacks but our final products wasn't the best."
"Ghana is better than Senegal so being able to be on top in the WC qualifiers and win all our home games, we will qualify and the draw here is a huge boost for us."
The second leg is slated for Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benina, Libya.
