The quartet of African teams - Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly, Esperance de Tunis, and Wydad Casablanca - will be Africa's representatives in the revamped 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and are poised to reap a substantial financial reward, with each side guaranteed a minimum payout of $50 million for their participation in the prestigious tournament.

The 2025 Club World Cup will undergo a significant transformation, expanding its participant pool to 32 teams, a substantial increase from the previous seven-team format. 

This new format will bring together a diverse array of clubs, including 12 European powerhouses, six prominent South American sides, five top-tier North American teams, four Asian contenders, and one representative from Oceania. 

Meanwhile, the African contingent will comprise the leading clubs from South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco, ensuring a strong presence from the continent's footballing elite.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has received a significant boost, with a total prize of massive $2.65 billion.

Each of the 32 competing teams will be guaranteed a minimum payout of $50 million. Performance-based bonuses will also be awarded, with the winner receiving $100 million as cash prize.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has hailed the new format as innovative, inclusive, and groundbreaking.

The tournament will feature a newly designed, 24-carat gold trophy crafted by Tiffany & Co. This trophy symbolizes prestige and progress.

The expanded FIFA Club World Cup will take place from June 15 to July 13, 2025, in the United States of America.
