By beating CR Belouizdad, Medeama may have dispatched one of their biggest threats in their group - but they will still have to be at their best if they are to get past Young Africans at home on Friday.

Led by Miguel Ángel Gamondi, Yanga fought their way past Al-Merrikh to get to this point in the competition. History was made by the Jangwani-based outfits after missing the CAF Champions’ League group stage mission for 25 years.

The Tanzania Envoys have yet to win a game in the competition thus far having lost to CR Belouizdad and drawing with Egyptian giants Al Ahly. But overlook Yanga at your peril, as they have plenty of players capable of causing real problems for a Medeama side who are only just getting themselves going in the competition.

Here's kickgh.com’s run through of who to keep an eye on.

Stephane Aziz Ki

Stephane Aziz Ki has been a big name in the Tanzania league since his arrival from Asec Mimosas last year and while some may have expected him to go onto slightly bigger things, the Ivorian born Burkina Faso international is still an extremely impressive attacking midfielder.

Ki glides across the pitch before exuding the utmost technical quality with the ball at his feet. He's a player that you just can't take your eye off at times, such is his virtuosity. The 27-year-old is gritty and tenacious without the ball, while Gamondi has used him in a myriad of functions - all of which he performs to the highest level. Not many boasts Ki’s positional flexibility.

Pacôme Zouzoua

Zouzoua is a Swiss army knife. He's so versatile but much of his production this season came when Gamondi deployed him as a striker. The discarded Sparta Prague youth prospect loves to operate from the left half-space.

The 26-year-old is a versatile forward who crucially excels with both feet. He's arguably better playing off a target man as opposed to leading the line himself, but his multi-faceted skill set means he can perform both roles with aplomb.

The former Asec star is a physical behemoth whose relentlessness is enough to deter defenders. He runs the channels at will and is a player capable of lifting his side via the energy he emanates both with and without the ball.

Maxi Nzengeli

Maxi Nzengeli can score a variety of goals and his killer instinct has made him prolific in the box. He's always in the right place at the right time but there's a genius to his craft. Nzengeli’s movement is superb, while the expert timing of his runs always optimises the possibility of successfully getting in behind a defence.

The DR Congo international boasts a lightning-quick, gazelle-like stride that overwhelms defences every week. He's a destructive ball-carrier and he has reached superstar status at the Benjamin Mkapa national stadium.

Mahlatsi Makudubela

The South African’s direct running, instinctive nature and penchant to entertain have seen him immediately emerge as a fan favourite. He's an incredibly exciting winger to watch, with his unpredictability and variation in possession being distinct factors in instant fame in Tanzania. He's a risk-taker in possession; a player that gets the crowd on their feet every time he receives possession in the attacking third.

The 33-year-old is a sharpshooter who loves to beat players one-vs-one and create for his teammates in the final third, but there's no doubt he can be woefully inefficient and infuriating to watch at times. But when you're scoring heaps of goals, who cares?
