Ghana's beach soccer team on Saturday secured its spot at the 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after a huge 10-5 aggregate win over Côte d'Ivoire.
The Black Sharks went into the match at the Stade de Agora in Abidjan as favourites, having mashed the Ivorians 5-3 in the first leg.
Côte d'Ivoire started the match on a good note, firing themselves into a two-goal lead, but Ghana fought back unflichingly.
Substitute goalkeeper Robert Nyadedzor scored the opener for Ghana with a long-range effort, before Wise Nyamadi struck home the leveller. Skipper Richard Martei Osai put Ghana ahead, and second-half goals from Precious Torgbor and Jude Asante Aklie sealed the victory for the West Africa's beach soccer giants.
The Black Sharks are one of seven teams who have qualified for the tournament. This year’s Beach Soccer AFCON will be staged in Egypt.
