Ghana forward Albert Adomah reached a remarkable career milestone on Saturday, making his 700th English Football League appearance as Walsall drew 1–1 with Shrewsbury in League Two.

The veteran winger achieved the feat on his 38th birthday, adding further significance to the occasion. Although Adomah passed 700 career appearances in September 2024, the match against Shrewsbury marked his 700th outing exclusively in EFL competition.

Across a long and consistent career in England’s lower leagues, Adomah has featured 526 times in the Championship and 174 in League Two, scoring 95 goals and providing 101 assists.

“That’s another milestone. 700 EFL games, I am assuming that’s just league games. That is amazing and it happens to be on my birthday, that’s a nice touch and that’s another milestone to celebrate,” Adomah said after the game.

The former Black Stars forward has represented several clubs during his EFL journey, including Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, before his current spell at Walsall.

Walsall manager Mat Sadler paid tribute to the experienced winger, praising both his influence and attitude.

“Happy birthday to him, he’s the youngest 38-year-old I know,” Sadler said.

“He’s an amazing person and he had that chance where he flashed it across to Courtney. That’s the moments that were in the game, we just didn’t quite have that cutting edge at the final moment and sometimes that is understandable with the amount of games we’ve had recently. For now, we have to rest up, look after the lads for a few days and then go again in what has the makings of a very good game this Saturday now.”
