Ghanaian international Christopher Antwi-Adjei was racially abused during Schalke 04's DFB Pokal game against FC Lokomotive Leipzig on Sunday.
Antwi-Adjei was subjected to racial chants by the supporters of FC Lokomotive Leipzig when his side, Schalke 04 defeated the lower-tier side in the first round of the competition at the Bruno-Plache Stadion.
The incident occurred in the 13th minute when the German-born Ghanaian midfielder went to the touchline to take a throw-in when words were shouted that have no place on a football pitch or anywhere else.
After Antwi-Adjei raised the issue, the referee stopped the match so the home club could make a stadium announcement.

Instead, sections of the home crowd booed the 31-year-old with every touch until the final whistle was blown in the fixture which lasted for 120 minutes.
Antwi-Adjei has reported the incident to the police, who have begun investigations.
In his post-game speech, Antwi-Adjei said: “It’s very disappointing to have to experience something like this in this day and age. It’s not acceptable. I hope this person reflects on their actions.”
Antwi-Adjei becomes the second Ghanaian player to be abused racially over the weekend after AFC Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo suffered same ordeal at Anfield during a Premier League game against Liverpool on Friday.
