A dramatic twist in the transfer market has halted Ernest Nuamah's move from Olympique Lyon to Fulham at the last minute.
The Ghanaian winger, who was on the verge of joining the English Premier League side for a reported £15 million deal with add-ons, had already completed his medical and agreed on personal terms with Fulham, according to The Athletic.
Nuamah, a product of the Right To Dream Academy, caught Fulham's attention after the club's pursuit of French international Rayan Cherki fell through. However, despite the deal being signed, the transfer has collapsed due to unforeseen complications.
Following the breakdown of Nuamah's transfer, Lyon quickly moved to secure former Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha as a replacement.
In his debut season with Lyon, the 20-year-old winger made 39 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. Despite missing out on the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger due to injury, Nuamah remains a key figure for Ghana, having recently scored in a 2-1 victory over Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
