Former Ghana international Alfred Duncan has said goodbye to Italian Serie A side ACF Fiorentina as he prepares to complete a move to Venezia FC in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Your authoritative football website, Kickgh.com, confirmed on Friday evening that the 31-year-old combative midfielder has completed his medical examination and signed a three-year contract with the Serie A returnees.

Duncan is joining the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo outfit after leaving ACF Fiorentina after a four-year stay at the club. He left the last season's Europa Conference League finalists following the conclusion of his contract.

Duncan made 126 appearances in a variety of competitions when he was a member of Fiorentina, contributing significantly to the team's victories and scoring six goals.

The ex-Black Stars midfielder took to his official Instagram account to bid a heartfelt farewell to everyone at ACF Fiorentina and express his gratitude to the club for the four-year stint.

Duncan's farewell message to ACF Fiorentina reads: "I don't know where to start; I was hoping not to have to say goodbye to Florence today. But like every story, there is a beginning and an end. Here, I have experienced so many emotions and the dream of returning to Europe with my goal against Juventus. Florence and the Florentines have taught me so much, and you have given me so much. I thank President Commisso and director Joe Baroe, figures I will always remember. I thank mister Iachini, who wanted me, and also mister Italiano, who wanted me back after the loan experience in Cagliari, all the staff, and the teammates with whom I have spent these three and a half years. Above all, I thank the fans and the Curva Fiesole for the patience and support you have given me."

Playing for Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Cagliari, and Inter Milan's junior team, Duncan has demonstrated his versatility and midfield experience, earning him recognition in Italian football.

Duncan holds the record for the most Serie A appearances by a Ghanaian footballer after featuring in 304 games.

He capped 10 times for the Ghana national team before announcing his retirement from international football in 2017.
